ATHLETE PROFILE – STRONGMAN ANDREW FRASER

Athlete Profile – Strongman Andrew Fraser

At Powerhouse, we are huge supporters of all our local sports men and women, and love to see them kicking goals so we thought we’d profile one person a month and show off how amazing they are!

Meet Andrew Fraser.
24 years old, Strongman, and client of Powerhouse Canberra.

After playing rugby league for 17 years, Andrew started training with weights in 2014. In June of the same year, he decided to compete in the Strongman competition. For those of you who aren’t familiar, Strongman is a sport that requires its participants to pick up heavy objects and move them. It involves physical strength, but also requires skill, mental resilience as well as a whole lot of athleticism.

2 months after deciding to compete, Andrew went and competed in the Sydney Strongman Series Novice Division and placed 2nd.

Since then, Andrew has achieved the following:

  • held all ACT Strongman Records for 2 Years (and maintained those records whilst being injured)
  • placed 3rd at NSW Strongest Man in 2015, and 4th in 2016
  • placed 4th at AustralAsia’s Strongman competition in 2015
  • placed 3rd overall at Sydney Strongman Series in Div2. in 2015
  • placed 3rd at Canberra’s Strongest Man 2016
  • invited to compete at NSW’s Strongest Man competition.

Powerhouse helps Andrew prepare for his competitions, tuning everything to make sure he’s in peak condition particularly working on his back & shoulders.

Andrew is off to the Tamworth CMF Strongest Man & Woman competition this weekend and we wish him all the very best!
