WHAT A PAIN IN THE NECK!

Acute Wry Neck

Acute wry neck is the term used to describe a sudden onset of neck pain. It usually results in an inability to turn your head, making head checks in the car extremely difficult among other things.

Acute wry neck can occur following any extended period of time in an unusual position. It doesn’t have to be anything high impact, and can be as simple as having an afternoon siesta on the couch or sleeping on a new pillow. While you’re asleep and blissfully unaware, the joints in your neck stiffen up and the muscles get tight from being in a new position – and as soon as you wake up – bang! PAIN.

But not to worry, our experienced team of physio’s at Powerhouse can get your joints moving and your muscles to relax, giving you back your free moving neck – free to sleep on the couch once again.
